Posted June 9th, 2011 by DannyMax Google recently announced that they are to drop support for IE7 meaning that users still using the dated software will soon lose some functionality on services such as Gmail and Google docs. I see this as a good thing as older browsers need to be ditched in favour of newer ones so that web designers can use the newer features in css without having to worry too much about people not being unable to view the content. I still worry about users still using IE 6, though there are not many of them still out there I do still worry about that 3% (stats from StatCounter). What if the person you are trying to sell or talk to is in that 3%. I think all designs have to be legible to the users of older browsers even if they don't look the prettiest!
